About Dennis Begos
Dennis Begos was born and raised in the suburbs of New York City.. He has lived and practised medicine in the greater Boston area for the past 20 years.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from the University of Rochester. Dennis studied medicine for two years at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College. He was a member of the medical stud where he was a junior member.
Colon and rectal surgery, as well as general surgery
Dennis Begos was named Chief Resident in his final year of medical school. Then went on to a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic. He has a passion for teaching, and during his clinical career, he was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as book chapters, editorials and blog posts.
Various Leadership Positions
He has held various leadership positions in addition to his clinical and academic practise. For ten years, he was Chair of the Department of Surgery at Winchester Hospital, and for two years, he was President of the Medical Staff. He has served on the American Society for Colon and Rectal Surgeons’ national committees and as a board examiner for the American Board of Surgery.
His mother emigrated from Ireland as a teenager and met his dad. Who was the son of immigrants and the first person in his family to go to college. His father went to law school at night and became a successful attorney in Manhattan. Dennis learned his work ethic from them. In his free time he enjoys skiing in the winter and playing golf in the summer, as well as hiking, photography, and travel.
